Happy Holidays from the Lakota People's Law Project

Waníyetu (winter) greetings! As the wheel turns and the year winds down to a close, we wanted to write to you to send you blessings for the days to come.

For the Lakota, the winter solstice begins a time for gathering, reflection, and renewal. On the long night, you can see many Lakota constellations that tell the story of creation, centered in the sacred Black Hills. This is a sacred time, ripe for prayer and matters of the spirit.

The Lakota People’s Law Project wishes you a wonderful holiday season, a bountiful new year, and a winter full of family and warmth.
