An attorney for Nicholas Sandmann, having declared that “the pendulum has swung too far in favor of the First Amendment,” has now filed suit against the Washington Post for defaming his client. The lawsuit is in regard to the incident that occurred at the Lincoln Memorial on January 18th involving the harassment of Omaha elder Nathan Phillips by nearly one hundred Covington Catholic High School students, many wearing MAGA hats. Sandman’s legal counsel has sued WaPo for $250 million — the same amount, not coincidentally, that Jeff Bezos spent to purchase the Washington Post several years ago, revealing the ideological roots of this lawsuit. The MAGA spin machine is attempting to silence criticism of Donald Trump in the media. The Lakota People’s Law Project believes that the pendulum has swung too far in the direction of bigotry and, dare we say it, fascism. Please read our rebuttal to this unfounded, dangerous attack on the Washington Post and the First Amendment — and please spread our analysis far and wide.
